I was driving home from work tonight and I was recalling some advice my Grandma has given me over the years. It made me smile to know that she is always looking out for me and is a wise, wise woman!
1. When I went to Mardi Gras in 2001, my Grandma wrote me a letter and told me not to talk to strangers. ( I was 20 at the time!)
2. When Ron and I were house-hunting my Grandma told me to make sure that the our front door looked like the rest of the doors in the neighborhood!
3. When Ron and I got married, my Grandma told me to make sure that we insure my wedding ring!
4. When Ron and I had kids, my Grandma told me to make sure that we take the girls to plays, musicals and theatre!
5. My Grandma also once told me to safety pin the socks before I did laundry to keep the pairs together!
I love my Grandma and plan on getting more advie from her in the future!

Bathing in Swimsuits!
Ron bought Tia a bikini! You would have thought that Tia had died and gone to beach heaven. Tia and Sydney put on their bathing suits and played swimming pool in Tia's room. The ground was the pool and their beds were the diving board. They had a blast. To top the bikini-night off, the wanted to take a bath with the swimsuits!
Tia and Sydney were having a blast in the tub. Ron and I were folding laundry just listening to them splash away. All of a sudden, Tia shouts," Mom, Dad come in here!" Ron and I went in only to find that they had taken the luffas and "stuffed" their swimsuits! It was hilarious! I do not remember doing things like this at 6 going on 7. Girls will be girls!!! ( It was quite the Kodak moment. Too bad the photographer was too busy laughing to think about snapping a photo!)

1-800-Easter-Bunny
This year I had to make an emergency call to the Easter Bunny. Sydney was afraid that the Easter Bunny was going to come into her room. We placed the Easter baskets downstairs on the coffee table but that was not good enough. About 10:30 Sydney was still wide-eyed and bushy-tailed so I pick up the phone and dialed 1-800-Easter-Bunny! I told the Easter Bunny that Sydney did not want him to come upstairs. He agreed. I let Sydney know and she finally closed her eyes!

What a Girl Wants in A Husband!
On the way to dance class on Monday, Tia said to me, "Mom when I grow up I want my husband to be responsible, caring towards other people, give hugs and cleans!" Can you blame the girl? I thought to myself that sounds just like her Daddy and it sounds like great traits to look for 25 years from now!
Time Out Times 2!
At 2 years and 11 months Sydney had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day! At daycare, Sydney bit one of her friends, which landed herself in time out. Later that evening, after taking a toy of Tia's, she was asked to hand Tia back her toy. Instead, she decided to throw it at Tia. This hurt Tia due to the heavy metal keychain it had on it. Yes, once again, she landed herself in time out. Sydney proceeded to scream her very high pitched scream on the stairs while in time out. Ron did not want to listen to it, so he picked her up and had her sit in the hallway upstairs. Sydney was not a happy camper to say the least.
As she was upstairs, she proceeded to get quiet. I ventured up the stairs to see what she was doing, only to find her in the litter box giving it a taste. She learned the hard way that kitty litter does not taste good! I just shook my head and asked her if it tasted good, and of course she said, "NO!"
With 3 just around the corner I can only hope that we are leaving the terrible two's behind and have not only just begun them! My Mom said that I did not go through the terrible two's but it was the terrible three's that I explored! I am keeping my fingers crossed!

These Are The Moments
Nobody ever said it was going to be easy. Motherhood is something you cannot study to become great at, you just take things day by day and focus on the good versus the challenging. Tia and Sydney are two very sweet girls who express some of the sweetest moments.
When I snuggle with Sydney at night, she often rubs my forehead. as I often do when I put her to sleep. Tia said to me tonight, "Mommy when I was in your tummy I wished that I had a great Mom like you". Also, the other night when Tia sensed that I was stressed out, as I went to tucking her into bed, she started to rub my shoulders and gave me a massage. These are the moments that I will treasure forever and hope that they always remember the beautiful girls they are from the inside out!
